Automatic and manual UPS system wiring for home or office with circuit diagram

Automatic UPS system wiring for home or office

This article is about how to connect a UPS system in our home or office and this is very useful information. The below circuit diagram shows the how to connect a UPS from our main supply to appliance(load). This circuit diagram is for in case of falling the main power supply and you want to supply power to specific appliances, TV, AC, laptop etc. in your home or office.
As shown as, two rooms are connected with main power supply. Here, you don't have to connect the neutral wire connection from UPS because it's already connected the phase and neutral wire from the main power supply with the same point. To connect UPS first you have to remove the connection of phase wire from the main distribution box(from SP,DP or CB) of those rooms which you want to connect with UPS. By doing this(connect with both supply), we can use the power without interruption. If main power fails the UPS will provides the power to the connected load.

How It's Works?

Here for both condition when main power supply is available and when it is not, the circuit diagram is given below.

Case-1: Normal condition-when main power supply is available

When the main power supply is available that time power will flow as shown blue path in this figure. This time power will not flow through the battery because when the power supply is available that time battery starts charging through UPS. Here, the second phase wire which is connected after UPS installation becomes inactive.

Case-2: When main power supply is not available

When the power supply is not available from the main power supply that time power will from the battery to connected rooms with UPS system. Here, the main phase wire which is connected before UPS installation becomes inactive. In this figure, the blue line shows the power flow when the main power supply is unavailable.
