How To Wire Switches In Series. ( basic home electrical wiring diagrams)

Requirements:

-2 Switches
-1 Lamp (Bulb)
-Cables

Procedure:

-Connect these all components as shown in the figure below.
Why use 2 SPST switches in series?
The point of two SPST (single pole single through)switches in series is that first one acts as a “master switch”, so you can cut the power without turning off the breaker. You are then free to use the second switch for normal operation.

In this article we learn about how to control a lamp with 3 different switches at different places. This is very useful. For doing this we required two 2-way switch, 1 intermediate switch and a lamp. Connect all these as shown as in the below diagram. Fig.-1 In the above diagram the lamp is on because the circuit is in closed condition.To understand easily the circuit diagram for this, is given below.  Fig.-2 In this case the lamp(bulb) is in off condition.
