Three phase electrical wiring system for home & multi-floor building

In this article you will learn about how to do three phase wiring in home. Generally, the elctrical supply provider company install single phase energy meter for where requirements is 7.5 kW load in domestic areas but if this limit exceeded then they install 3-phase meter. For this we required following things.

Requirements-

Required Materials
Number
Three phase energy meter
1
Three pole, 63 A, MCCB
1
Double pole, 63 A, 30 mA, Trip current RCD
3
Double Pole MCBs, 63A
3
Single Pole, 20A, MCB
6
Single Pole, 16A, MCB
3
Single Pole, 10A, MCB
6
Distribution board cases
3
Cupper strips for MCB Common connection

Here, the connected load is single phase. their is no 3 phase load connected to the 3 phase system. The 3 phase wiring are used because our load is more then 7.5 kW. Now, let's start the procedure how to install 3 phase wiring for your home.

Figure 1- 3 phase winding in home
As shown in the figure, connect the 3 phase energy meter, MCCB as main switch for incoming R,Y,B phase from utility pole. Now, connect that the outgoing R,Y,B with SP, DP, or RCD and also connect neutral as shown in figure.
Figure 2- 3 phase wiring in multi floor building
As shown in the figure, connect the 3 phase energy meter, MCCB as main switch for incoming R,Y,B phase from utility pole. Now, connect that the outgoing R,Y,B with SP, DP, or RCD and also connect neutral as shown in figure. Do not forget to connect the earthing as shown as in the figure.

In the 3 phase wiring system, the single phase and three phase can be connect as shown as below figure.
In the three phase wiring system the phase to phase voltage will be 440 V and phase to neutral voltage will be 230 V (In India) and for USA it is 208 V & 120 V respectively. If circuit breaker of any floor is ON then it will not dis-connect the load of other floor. If you use one circuit rather then the three, then if load increases, more current will flowing through cable that makes cable overheat as well as voltage drop also increase. Therefore the rated voltage will not reach to the end of load. Due to overheating their is chance of fire.

So please! if you don't know safety and precaution then do not try it. Electricity is very dangerous. Be careful! [/alert]
